Remembering Dad at his Grill and Me By His Side

Last week I blogged about memories of my DAD.  I talked about his passion for grilling and his gift to me of my first grill, a Weber Kettle. I remember hanging out with my Dad at the grill every time he grilled. It was our place and our time.  It still is.

We decided to grill up Dad's signature dish- London Broil marinated in Catalina Dressing. It was fabulous and the taste and flavor was just as I remembered.

Happy Father's Day Dad!  And thank you for your great grilling!

Do you have any grilling with your dad memories or recipes you'd like to share?  Post them here or on our Facebook Fan Page.

I hear ya Catalina dressing! I'll have to send that video to my dad as an homage to him. My dad used to put that on everything! When I first moved down to the good ol' South (DC/MD native) everyone was marinating with Dale's.

I'm sending him a GrillGrate this Father's Day. As a boomer he loves gadgets and innovative products.

When I was younger, I think my mom enjoyed the grilling season more than my dad. During the summer, it was her time to relax and have someone else at the helm guiding the dinner for the troops. Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there! Can't wait to get my dad a Grill Grate this year for Father's Day.

Unfortunately, it has been several years since I have been able to be with my father on Father's Day, but my fondest memories always revolved around my dad and his big smoker grill.

One of my all time favorite recipes of my dad's is his smoked pork tenderloin. A simple recipe but one I have never been able to emulate. Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there and dads to be.

Staying up ALL NIGHT on Thanksgiving to smoke the turkey. We were on shifts, but since I was sleeping on the couch in the living room I was basically awake all the time! It was a fun long night that I'll always remember. Thanks Dad!
